Sant’Agnese Thermal baths
The most ancient Roman baths in the whole Emilia-Romagna
The spa is situated inside the hotel, built above the hot hyperthermal springs in the middle of the ancient settlement Balneum Romana traces of which endure in the area adjacent to the entrance to the Thermal and Wellness Centre. The sulphurous-alkaline-bicarbonate hyperthermal water of Santa Agnese is the same one that has been flowing for millennia on the surface, after travelling for eight hundred years between the faults of the Apennines of Tuscany and Romagna.
Excellent places are the caves with the tepidarium (a hot spring at 38 Celsius degrees) and the calidarium (hyperthermal spring at 43 Celsius degrees) for an intense organism purification process. The relaxation areas are held in the 17th century buildings with wide vaulted ceilings and cast iron pillars that have taken over the 16th Grisolini palace, with perfectly modernised historic rooms that are available to customers.
